Black Buddha Bless

Whats the good news?
Its that time of the month again, which is the end of one leading into the beginning of the next, so I felt it best to continue in the tradition of ending on a positive note.

This is actually a test of my story telling abilities, and the one that I will share today is an actual true life story from my own archive of borderline paranormal personal experiences, so on with the show.

In the early part of the decade, I was employed with a technology company that was owned and operated by individuals of Taiwanese decent. Over the years, I was fortunate enough to become acquainted with the heads of the company, and was taken under their wing to learn about certain elements of life and business from a Far East Asian perspective through direct experience and contact.

The full proceedings of all the events would require a full book volume, so we will save that for a later date, and keep this entry brief, to the point, and on task.

After years of acquaintance, I had the opportunity to visit a restaurant in the Chinatown section of Los Angeles. I have visited the area many times prior, yet on this occasion, it just so happened that I needed to catch a train at Union Station in Los Angeles, and the head of the company had some business to tend to in the area, so he decided to bless me by giving me a lift.

Before we got to the train station, we circled into Chinatown to check on a few things, and wound up at a traditional Chinese restaurant. Of course, I already knew about the fact that what most consider to be Chinese food in America, is actually food that people of Chinese descent market and sell as Chinese food, but is really American Style food sold to Americans under the moniker of being Chinese, with popular dishes such as Orange Chicken and Stir Fried Rice with a fortune cookie as a desert treat.

I mentioned this piece of trivia to the humor of the person that I was with, and was soon shown the more accurate version of Chinese food that people in China, and of Chinese descent traditionally consume without thought of what Americans may find enjoyable.

We entered the restaurant, and within a few minutes female server arrived at our table with a menu full of items on a cart that were ready to serve, all of them colorful and full of aromas that I was not familiar with.

The person who brought me there uttered a few harsh toned words in Chinese to the server, and she quickly proceeded to put a few items from the cart on his plate, then asked what I wanted, which at that time was nothing from the cart.

When I asked what the cause of the harsh tone was, I soon learned that my American way of thinking had misled me, in the sense that what I considered harsh is what they consider normal and appropriate.

He then bagan to chow down on a dish using chop sticks that was juicy with a bright red and orange color, mentioning to me that I just did not know what I was missing, and since the only way to know is to ask, the answer showed that he was correct as he proceeded to tell me that what I was looking at on his plate was a good old fashioned helping of

Chinese Chicken Feet !

It really is a case of different strokes in my life, and he chuckled at my facial expression after learning what I was considering giving a try actually was.

We talked for a few more minutes as he finished his meal as I observed the scenery which showed that not only was I the only African American in the establishment, but the only non Chinese speaking person as well, yet no one seemed to really notice my presence as a stand out, as the food in the establishment was a more important matter of focus for the patrons.

There was still another 2.5 hours left before my train was scheduled to depart which left enough time tp pass by a nearby popular diner and cultural landmark in Los Angeles known as

Phillipe’s, which is actually as close to the definition of a traditional American dining establishment, as this establishment was traditional Chinese, yet Phillipe’s is the place where the French Dip Sandwich was actually invented.

Only in America is the most accurate way to describe it all, and it is shown through what I soon discovered, which may have been the more accurate explanation of why no one paid me any mind as a standout in a traditional Chinese restaurant that was in no way, shape, or form  inviting to tourist and hobbyists.

When exiting the building, I had the chance to observe something more closely that I saw when entering the place earlier that I thought was a figment of my imagination at first.

When I stopped and observed with curiosity, my escort asked what I was tripping on. As you enter into the establishment, there is a small square hole inside of the wall, with a small statue of a Black Buddha.

When I said I actually have seen this before, he responded by saying

“yeah, who hasnt” “?

I saw this particular chubby build Buddha statue in a lighter shade first on a record imprint as a child from Buddah Records which may explain why I for many years thought that Buddha was a term that was related to funk, disco, and “herbal remedies” before I became more enlightened, or so I thought.

Buddha Record Imprint

When I asked if the people in the restaurant and traditional Chinese culture believed that Buddha was black, I did recall that there are different aspects for Buddha, which represent different divine attributes, and my escort explained that this particular Black Buddha statue represents what their culture believes is The Buddha of Entertainment and Good Times, and is present in many establishments for dining and social events in Chinese culture to provide blessings.

Hmm?

To be continued.

Due to an interesting chain of events this weekend, and taking a step back to where it all started, which is on foot, it has been determined that the game has called upon us again to take it to the streets, and we have actually been intuitively preparing for this time for a few years now, and diligently preparing accordingly.

To sum it up in a few words, it is as follows.

Nina Sky- Beautiful People

Photographer: Jim Larer

Say what you will, yet and still, one of my favorite parts of this job that I love is when I get to sit and watch the girls grow up and blow up, which is indicated by the size of the image above.

For those not familiar with the twins Nicole and Natalie Albino combined as the duo act known as, Nina Sky burst on the scene in 2004 at the age of 17, with their club banger

Move Ya Body

Move Ya Body, which combined Caribbean dance hall rhythms with updated flavor and helped to spark the current Reggaeton phenomenon that has resulted in networks such as MTV creating channels specifically for this market.

This duo of tiwns hails from New York City, and have been involved in underground urban music circles since their pre teen years.

After an underground mixtape circuit stint and a few off the radar power moves and a variety of image changes, they have arrived back to usher in
the new decade with a single entitled Beautiful People, which explores their actual talents as musicians. The video clip below will direct you to all of the groups online outlets.

Let the record reflect, that again, in my honest opinion,

Hip Hop Is DEAD, &
Pimp Hop Is BREAD.

On with the show.

Pimpin At The Presidential Level

Never Underestimate The Power Of The Pimpin'!

It is now in the history archives, as President Barack Obama delivers his first State Of The Union Address.

There is much to be said, and is currently being said all around the web and in mainstream news outlets, so you can feel free to tune in to the discussions at any of your favorite websites or news programs and publications.

We here at PimpHop.com see it more as a call to duty, and I guess it really is true when it is often said that people really hear what they want to hear, and in this particular instance I will evoke my right to the same privilege.

At the beginning, it begins with the tradition of how the State Of The Union Address came about, through a constitutional clause which states that the acting President shall deliver a message to Congress in regards to the
State Of The Union.

Out of all the topics discussed, what stands out for me is the part that translates to the following ideology,

“If you want the game to flow tight, just keep it “P” and put up a website. Keep the people in the know, and move on with the show!”

Roger That.
Also add to the to do list a high speed train project in California that may travel back and forth to and from Las Vegas.
Picture That!

We have our orders, so stay tuned.

How We Separate The “Wanna Be’s” From The “Really Are’s”

A wannabe (pronounced [wa.na.bi]) is a person who imitates or emulates another. The term derives from the words “want to be”.

This entry is for the sake of continuing to keep our viewers included in the growth and expansion of this mission by allowing them to follow along on the journey of discovery and self realization.

When building a brand, this type of scenario does appear to be extremely relevant, and with the types of technological goods and services available to be used by any plus twenty on The Internet, I believe it becomes even more pertinent to really evaluate what is really what.

The actual answer is one that I am still searching for, and as a creator, I have noticed that the abundant amount of websites which allow any individual the chance to imitate that which they wish to be, makes it an everyday challenge to find some key criteria to help separate the laundry.

Should each individual who wants to have a shot at success have the right to create an online presence and test the waters, and who deserves the right to say yay or nay?

As politically correct and virtuous as it may sound, I believe that without an actual governing body to maintain standards of quality, the good will usually wind up being mixed in with the junk, and bring the value of the good into a state of decline and decadence, as all it takes is one bad apple to spoil the bunch, and one bad bunch, to spoil the harvest.

Perhaps it is a bit elitist sounding, as individuals who strive for and demand excellence are often accused of, yet the ends of this form of thinking do tend to justify the means, so I will simply leave you with one jewel that I apply when confronted with this dilemma, and it is in regards to how to sparate the grown ups from the kids.

A.Grown ups tend to focus on their work, and doing things well.
B. Kids tend to be primarily  focused on trying to be somebody and be noticed by others.

What is your opinion?

Obama As An Honorary Laker ?

Images from the Los Angeles Lakers visit to the White House are now beginning to fully circulate around the web, and the image above is actually the highest rated image on The Huffington Post , which I discovered after it was entered for this entry.

Its just in time for The State Of The Union Address coming up in two days, and perhaps the Union is in somewhat of a functional State, if the President Of The United States Of America would consider being a player on The Lakers as fitting of an honor as Kobe and the rest of the Lakers crew would perhaps feel about a cabinet position in the Obama Administration, which seems feasible through what we see in the image above.

Its about mutual respect in my opinion.

The Truth About The Facebook Dislike Button

Stephanie Shoemaker-Ingram Jessica Swallow a girl named Lauren was walking in a forest and suddenly

named Mary found Lauren’s body which had chest markings that said, “I
wasn’t pretty enough.” Lauren’s ghost will appear in your mirror,… See More

As the wise ones say, be careful what you wish for, as you may very well recieve it, yet lucky for me, I was wise enough to be adequately prepared, as it is actually an answer or a few, that I requested, and this post in an apex to my very last entry.

When I logged back on, I noticed a fan page for what is known as the dislike button campaign on Facebook, and was somewhat surpried to find that it actually has 3,252,578 fans.

If you are wondering about the jibberish in the quoted section above, it is some of the comment fodder that appears to be some form of a spam chain letter enterd over and over again.

I can actually write an entire book on the subject of Internet quasi normal activity through my experiences as a dot com entrepreneur.

We used to host an actual message board here at PimpHop.com up to about 2005, when the decision was made to cancel it based on what was showing up, yet it also caused us to have to sacrifice many of our followers.
As an insider tip, message boards are actually a precursor to Social Networking Sites in their present form and they tend to attract a certain type of individual.

Short and sweet, the Internet on many levels has become
a rest haven for haters, for lack of a more in acurate term, and my gut instincts prove to be correct once again, through the types of vibrations felt overall.

Just for the record, I will simply paste the definition of a psychological concept that we see being implemented in this scenario.

Psychological projection or projection bias (including Freudian Projection) is the unconscious act of denial of a person’s own attributes, thoughts, and emotions, which are then ascribed to the outside world, such as to the weather, the government, a tool, or to other people. Thus, it involves imagining or projecting that others have the same feelings or motives, rather than what they really think.

In more simplistic terms,

people who continuously focus on whats wrong with that which is exterior (dislike/hate) others, are simply seeking to take the focus off of their own self perceived flaws.

Kepping it 1000, I agree with Bob Marley when he states that
you cant run away from yourself, and the cause of all hate really is fear of the unknown, and usually a hateful person fears that what they believe about themselves deep inside is true, which is that they just
ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH, and actually, the wise also state that
whatever you REALLY THINK…. IS TRUE.

Time to make some changes.
