“#GivingTuesday is a shopping day with a twist: You’re not hunting for bargains, you’re hunting for ways to give back.” – Bill Gates
Why We Give
By Bill & Melinda Gates
Thanks for taking a break from your holiday shopping to take a look at #GivingTuesday.
Everyone has their own reasons for giving back. For us, it’s simply about making the world a more fair and equitable place. We know we were very lucky to grow up where we did, when we did. We believe everyone deserves the chance to live a healthy, productive life. Those are the values we learned from our families, and they’re why we started our foundation.
In our work, we come across a lot of great organizations doing inspiring work in the U.S. and around the world. In fact, as we talked about #GivingTuesday, the hardest question we faced was, “Which groups should we highlight?” After a lot of discussion about all the great choices out there, we picked four.
When our children have a little extra money saved up and want to make a donation, they often turn to Heifer International and World Vision. Through Heifer, you can donate an animal to a community in need—a gift that can benefit the recipients for years afterward. Through World Vision and Save the Children, you can change a child’s life by helping provide food, health care, education and more. And DonorsChoose.org lets you help teachers meet their classrooms’ needs, enabling projects that might not happen otherwise.
Whoever you support, and however much you give, thank you for participating in #GivingTuesday. It’s a great way to help create the better world we all want. We wish you a happy holiday season.

Too Big To Fail
The “too big to fail” theory asserts that certain financial institutions are so large and so interconnected that their failure would be disastrous to the economy, and they therefore must be supported by government when they face difficulty. The colloquial term “too big to fail” was popularized by U.S. Congressman Stewart McKinney in a 1984 Congressional hearing, discussing the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation’s intervention with Continental Illinois. The term had previously been used occasionally in the press.
Proponents of this theory believe that some institutions are so important that they should become recipients of beneficial financial and economic policies from governments or central banks. Some economists such as Paul Krugman hold that economies of scale in banks and in other businesses are worth preserving, so long as they are well regulated in proportion to their economic clout, and therefore that “too big to fail” status can be acceptable. The global economic system must also deal with sovereign states being too big to fail.
Opponents believe that one of the problems that arises is moral hazard whereby a company that benefits from these protective policies will seek to profit by it, deliberately taking positions (see Asset allocation) that are high-risk high-return, as they are able to leverage these risks based on the policy preference they receive. The term has emerged as prominent in public discourse since the 2007–2010 global financial crisis. Critics see the policy as counterproductive and that large banks or other institutions should be left to fail if their risk management is not effective. Some critics, such as Alan Greenspan, believe that such large organisations should be deliberately broken up: “If they’re too big to fail, they’re too big”. More than fifty prominent economists, financial experts, bankers, finance industry groups, and banks themselves have called for breaking up large banks into smaller institutions.

Moral of the story
It’s simple and easy.
This year, November 28, 2013, I (Rylan Branch) AM thankful for the wisdom that I have received that confirms the astronomical power of thankfulness, along with the status of having it radially available to authentically and sincerely give in infinite abundance to any and all who believe themselves worthy of its reception.
Technically speaking, all people, places, and things perceived by a conscious perceiver including but not limited to money, are bound by the human concept known in the English language as value; a concept in which both appreciation(+plus), and depreciation(-minus) determine its increase and/or decrease, and the attitude of gratitudeof which Thanksgiving symbolizes, is the most effective appreciation/value adding method available to any person, at any place, during any time.
Happy Thanksgiving 2013 if you celebrate!

“Fab Five Freddie told me everybody’s fly
DJ’s spinning I said my, my
Flash is fast, Flash is cool
Francois sais pas, Flashe no deux
And you don’t stop, sure shot
Go out to the parking lot
And you get in your car and you drive real far
And you drive all night and then you see a light
And it comes right down and lands on the ground
And out comes a man from Mars
And you try to run but he’s got a gun
And he shoots you dead and he eats your head
And then you’re in the man from Mars
You go out at night, eatin’ cars
You eat Cadillacs, Lincolns too
Mercuries and Subarus
And you don’t stop, you keep on eatin’ cars
Then, when there’s no more cars
You go out at night and eat up bars where the people meet
Face to face, dance cheek to cheek
One to one, man to man
Dance toe to toe
Don’t move too slow, ’cause the man from Mars
Is through with cars, he’s eatin’ bars
Yeah, wall to wall, door to door, hall to hall
He’s gonna eat ’em all
Rapture, be pure
Take a tour, through the sewer
Don’t strain your brain, paint a train
You’ll be singin’ in the rain
I said don’t stop, do punk rock
Well now you see what you wanna be
Just have your party on TV
‘Cause the man from Mars won’t eat up bars when the TV’s on
And now he’s gone back up to space
Where he won’t have a hassle with the human race And you hip-hop, and you don’t stop
Just blast off, sure shot
‘Cause the man from Mars stopped eatin’ cars and eatin’ bars
And now he only eats guitars, get up!”
“Debuting in 1981, the music video was the first rap video ever broadcast on MTV. It took place in the East Village section of Manhattan.”
Fab 5 Freddy was referenced in Blondie’s 1981 hit song “Rapture”. As recounted in the 1999 TV documentary The Hip Hop Years, the “Rapture” video featured Freddy in a cameo role painting graffiti art in the background. (Grandmaster Flash, who was also name-checked in the song, did not show up on the day of the shoot, so artist Jean-Michel Basquiat took his place behind the turntables)”
“Yeah. It’s what “her” shirt says! Can you picture it?” – Rylan Branch
Perhaps we should take into consideration what some of the Hip Hop purist and urban culture experts are stating more and more these days, which is that we should move away from the whole Pimp & Ho, bling bling, flashy materialistic, party rap element in Hip Hop, and move the culture back towards it’s “original roots” of more socially conscious messages, yet then again, there are always different perspectives to consider along with both factual and non factual data to back up one’s claims and stances.
Some people even say that when a in the know DJ in Bronx, NY decided to experiment with spinning two disco break records on two different turntables to keep the music flowing, the women in the crowd got to shaking their tail feathers and continued on so long as the music did, to which his response was that he
“loved it when a plan came together’ which we agree with as it is “officially” how the culture of what we now know as Hip Hop was born and bred into existence!
Ultimately like all else, its about decisions, actions, and end results, and we here at Your Friendly Neighborhood PimpHop.com simply seek to arrange the content that is offered by mass media for mass consumption into chronological order in hopes of offering a more clear perspective of the big picture, which is the cumulative sum total of the smaller pictures, to help you as a valued viewer to make the most conscious and well informed decisions in regards to your mental and emotional dietary consumption choices.
