Sunday Funday it is, and a great one for us as I am at last one step closer to finding signs of intelligent life which will allow for me to at long last fade into the background and turn the focus over to where it belongs which is the young female entrepreneurs in the information age of whom which this cause known as PimpHop.com Lifestyle Magazine was designed for.

Raquel is a young lady that I stay updated on on my personal Facebook page as she is an entrepreneur, and well, that’s just it. It is that time of the year again, where we conduct one of our annual Facebook Fasting initiatives here at Your Friendly Neighborhood PimpHop.com, and it usually comes during one of the four months in a year where there is a change in seasons.

Over time, the situation with social media addiction shows to be beyond just Facebook, and much more about the attention paid and time spent staring into the screen of a smartphone and or personal computer in general, at the people, places, and things which over time, prove to be a distraction, yet since Facebook is still the leading online social networking service and yours truly does not have a Instagram account and uses Twitter sparingly, we will initiate this process to ensure that our time and attention automatically flows elsewhere and report back with our findings in July when we will officially be in the 2014 Summer season.

While conducting research on the MSDN.com (Microsoft Developers Network) website, the term username showed up on the screen which led to a thought about what the term user actually describes, and from somewhat of an urban perspective, and even suburban at times, the term user is usually one of disparagement towards another (a diss).

Comedian Dave Chappelle often talks about Iceberg Slim during his stand-up routines. According to Chapelle, Iceberg Slim got his name by keeping ice-cold in a shoot-out where he stayed at the bar drinking his drink even though a bullet pierced his hat, a story told at the end of chapter 13 in Slim’s Pimp. With the news of the Santa Barbra CA massacre and subsequent social dialogue that is occurring as a result of it, the decision has been made to republish this article to explore the reasons why we do what we do, including but not limited to using hashtags in our online social statements.

There does appear to be a trend that lends more towards a selfish and vain attempt to appear kool amongst ours peers and to the public with the use of non relevant but hip sounding hashtags, as opposed to the original reason that they were implemented in the first place, which was to bring individuals together under one common subject of interest and discussion in which many can participate.

 

In closing, the tragedy does bring us back to the explorations of why individuals do what they do for better or worse so yours truly as the author of this article will add my own 2 cents with a hashtag that states #YesAllWomen as well as #AllMen can and should become more conscious and aware of our thoughts and behaviors by asking #whydowedothis ?

The more I grow and know, the more square I seem to become in the process, so today’s entry in the tech gadgets section is simply an attempt to answer my own questions that for all I know, may be on the minds of others as well, or is now that it has been mentioned.

Throughout the history of the Social Media phenomenon known as “Twittering”, I have seen these hash tags “#” become somewhat of a literal cultural icon similar to the way that the “@” symbol has become a universally understood way of stating the term “at”.

The Twitter hash tags has a significance in the since that the symbol is still commonly used as a numbers sign, and if there is someway to make it so that they are the same in both instances (Twitter & Numbers) then perhaps it is time to open up an investigation and subsequently Pimp The System by making it work in the most effective way.

Again, the feeling of squareness is what has led to this search because as embarrassing as it may be for me to say, watching shows like 106 & Park and others where the usage of this symbol and Twitter social media service does not answer my questions as to why in the world people do what they do with it, other than the fact that its the thing that people do because many people do it, which is definitely anti-pimp to the fullest extent.

The Solution?

Well, from what I know, Twitter and most websites that are effective at serving the needs of its viewers/users will list the descriptions of the services so that the occasionally square people such as myself may find the technical and rational descriptions about popular and trendy things that many of us do.

Welcome Home.
This Tuesday Newsday also doubles as the beginning of the new moon of June 2010, so it appears that we are beginning the month on a lucky note.

This entry is just an application of what the experts say is the first and most important step in accomplishing your goals, which is to create a clear and accurate picture of your destination, to have as a point of focus before you set sail.

Big plans are in store for this month, and it comes as a result of adding some things and subtracting some others, also known as figuring it out.
